Medical Centre for General Practitioners (MCH)

The Medisch Centrum voor Huisartsen (Medical Centre for General Practitioners) was founded by GPs in 1966 and has become a reference for GPs and their patients in Flemish Brabant. The referral and reporting system between GPs and specialists enables both parties to closely follow up patient files.

MCH is a polyclinic with two sites, one in Leuven and one in Wezembeek-Oppem. Both centres have a medical imaging service and altogether around a hundred specialists hold consultations here, assisted by a team of nursing staff.

At reception, staff take care of the registration procedure and ensure that appointments are kept promptly. The polyclinics are linked tot the clinical laboratory, where GPs can have samples analysed. The MCH laboratory provides high-quality analyses and ensures a smooth service for the patient and the GP. Our onw pick-up service collects the lab samples. The pick-up team collects samples from GPs quickly and efficiently at various times during the day, in the evening and on Saturdays. GPs receive most results electronically after a few hours, the same day. If GPs would like more details about certain lab results, they can contact one of the five biologists and an entire team of laboratory technicians.

In addition to the polyclinic with the medical imaging service and a clinical laboratory, GPs can also call upon the services of MCH Focus. MCH Focus is a flexible organisation that ensures creative and unique cooperation with GPs. MCH Focus arranges contacts between the GPs themselves and between GPs and their organisations and GP circles. This is done though a number of committees, each with their own set of ideas. The MCH Forus secretariat provides logistic and administrative support for GPs on a daily basis.
